Pengertian Poem
Menurut collinsdictionary.com, sebuah poem adalah “is a piece of writing in which the words are chosen for their beauty and sound and are carefully arranged, often in short lines which rhyme.” Ini artinya, poem adalah karya sastra Bahasa Inggris berbentuk tulisan yang ditulis dengan menggunakan bahasa yang indah. Dalam bahasa Indonesia, kita mengenal dengan sebutan sajak.
Nah, poem disini berbeda dengan poetry ya. Poem adalah sajak, sedangkan poetry adalah puisi.
Sebuah poem umumnya ditulis saling terpaut setiap katanya tersaji secara teratur dan terikat, sedangkan puisi ditulis menggunakan bahasa kiasan dan memiliki estetika dalam penyampiannya.
