Pengertian Adverb of Manner
Adverb ialah kata keterangan dari kalimat bahasa Inggris.
Adverb of manner: Kata keterangan (adverbs) yang digunakan untuk menggambarkan bagaimana suatu kegiatan dilakukan atau suatu peristiwa terjadi.
Misalnya: “Bagaimana rapat yang tadi kamu ikuti?”
“Rapat tadi berjalan dengan lancar.”
Kalimat jawaban “dengan lancar” itulah yang dinamakan adverb of manner.
Dalam Bahasa Inggris, umumnya kita menambahkan akhiran –ly dalam kata sifat atau kata kerja untuk mengubahnya menjadi keterangan cara. Contoh:
- Happy – happily
- Slow – slowly
- Careful – Carefully
- Accident – Accidentally
- Blind – blindly
- Quick – quickly
- Short – shortly
- Intention – Intentionally

The doctor woke the gently sleeping patient. (The patient was sleeping gently)
