Simple present adalah verb tense dengan dua fungsi utama. Diantaranya untuk membicarakan tindakan sedang terjadi sekarang, atau terjadi secara teratur (atau tanpa henti / present indefinite). Tergantung pada orangnya, simple present tense dibentuk dengan menggunakan bentuk dasar atau dengan menambahkan s atau es di akhir.

Formula Negatif: do/does + not + [root form of verb] / [to be] + not.
Contoh
Aryani does not want to share the pie. She doesn’t think there is enough to go around. Her friends do not agree. I don’t want pie anyway.
You are not a pie lover, but Pauline sure is. You aren’t ready for such delicious pie.
Formula Interrogative: do/does + [subject] + [root form of verb].
Contoh
Do you know how to cook a chicken noodle? How much does Aryani love noodle?
